Herbal Medicine

The use of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) dates back more than 4000 years.  The practitioner employs herbs to correct imbalances in specific disease patterns as well as to promote the body’s ability to heal itself and prevent injury and disease.  Research has shown CHM to be very effective in treating chronic veterinary medical conditions including dermatology, gastroenterology, respiratory disease, behavioral disorders and sports injuries.  CHM has the added benefit or being able to be used in competing show horses, as the majority of formulations do not test.  Herbal medicine is most commonly used in conjunction with both acupuncture and WVM.
