Acupuncture

Acupuncture achieves balance in the body’s systems through the stimulation of points along the body’s Meridian through which “Qi” flows.  The practitioner inserts specialized needles and, sometimes, injects vitamin B12 or even the patient’s own blood.  Stimulation of the correct points results in changes in the central nervous system, causing pain relief, increased blood circulation, physiological changes, release of hormones and the relief of muscle spasm.  The National Institutes of Health has said that there is “compelling evidence that acupuncture was useful in the management of osteoarthritis and musculoskeletal pain.”  Our clients have found that acupuncture is extremely beneficial, not only for routine maintenance between competitions, but also during a competition to keep your equine athlete comfortable and in peak condition in the show ring.
